SCOPE OF DUTIES
The duties of the Project Manager shall include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
•Evaluate all related external vendor and internal engineering drawings/documents to identify and close any gaps in work scope development required for effective installation and implementation by contracted shipyards, vendors, and consultants.
•Accurately access vessel material condition as well as applicable regulatory and engineering requirements in determination of recertification, repair, and/or modification project work scope.
•Develop recertification, repair, major modification project technical specifications.
•Evaluate vendor proposals for accuracy and provide recommendations for contract execution.
•Develop project budgets by obtaining and evaluating vendor proposals as well as historical financial data and lessons learned. Ensure project budgets accurately depict scope of work and schedule execution conditions.
•Recommend, procure, track delivery, and arrange storage of associated long lead and owner furnished items installed on or removed from vessels during the course of a project.
•Create all project purchase orders with accurate work scope descriptions, delivery terms, and pricing as applicable to execute project and tracks/revises as required through project closeout.
•Assists in development of shipyard contract terms and documents (if applicable).
•Ensures complete shipyard contract adherence by Company during project execution.
•Ensures approved project equipment installations are added to vessel hierarchy in NS5 and respective manuals delivered to vessel and appropriate Maintenance Department personnel.
•Accurately assess shipyard and equipment vendor production performance and effectively develop and communicate corrective action plans to resolve shortfalls.
•Provide accurate and detailed project daily and weekly reports with project engineering, production, financial, schedule status.
•Survey and approve final acceptance of shipyard contractor and equipment supplier deliverables to satisfy Company specifications, regulatory requirements, and vessel functionality.
•Apply knowledge to physically measure, check or otherwise determine that work product meets or exceeds Company requirements, and must be carried out following safe work practices.
•Verify all shipyard, regulatory, and equipment vendor invoicing and approve payment authorization.
•Work with vessel crews and Operation Managers to insure all operational and commercial related project issues are quickly resolved.
•Work with Shipyard Project Controller to complete project close out reports within 90 days of project completion.
•Assimilate vessel technical documentation, certification, and system operational documentation into company maintenance, engineering, and QHSE departments for integration into company programs and management systems.
•Perpetually review allied and emerging technologies that present potential cost reduction and value enhancement opportunities for application to company vessels and operating systems.
•Utilize computer programs and technical software tools including basic engineering calculations to accomplish daily duties.
•Work with the Maintenance and Engineering departments to refine, improve and/or maintain a technical filing system as well as one for regulatory tracking means for all vessels in the Company's fleet.
•Fully utilize computer software necessary to draft technical emails, memos, and letters and/or construct detailed spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and any of software required for clearly illustrating the problem statement and communicating the recommendations or solutions.
•Assist in maintaining an organized technical library consisting of Owners manuals, parts manuals, as well as vendor related brochures.
•Manage and report administrative duties as required by company policies and procedures.
•All other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Marine Engineering or related engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.
Experience: Minimum of ten years of industry experience. Familiarity with industry regulatory requirements and management systems would be beneficial.
Skills:
•Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
•Complete computer literacy in MicroSoft Windows and MicroSoft Office applications, with potential capabilities to learn Microsoft Project and computer-drafting applications such as AutoCad R14/2000.
•Capable of conducting training sessions, presentations and public speaking engagements to audiences of varying technical competencies.
•Ability to get along well with others.
•Team player.
Certifications: Must possess a valid US driver's license.
Must be willing to board and ride vessels to increase understanding of how this role supports our business.

DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Eyesight: Functional, correctable to 20/20
Hearing: Functional, correctable to normal to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in sound.
Speech: Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
Mobility: Unencumbered by physical limitations to perform vessel survey and inspection duties, including walking, climbing, crawling, lifting (less than 50 lbs), pulling, reaching and vehicle driving (automatic and manual vehicles). Ability to safely transport self, tools and equipment on and off yard equipment, vessels and vehicles. Ability to safely board and disembark from vessels. Ability to work in moderately exposed conditions, and extreme hot and cold climates.
HOURS OF WORK
Standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am until 5:00pm, excluding travel and overtime and maybe adjusted by supervisor. Regular and reliable attendance is required. Potential exists for extensive overtime as required by responsibilities and as directed by supervisor.
Note: Rotation schedule may vary and is subject to change based on vessel requirements.
