Job Summary: Provides professional nursing services or supervises the provision of nursing services to hospice patients in accordance with accepted standards of practice and organizational guidelines. May perform nursing services in a variety of care settings and/or roles, including but not limited to case management, admissions or on-call.
Essential Functions:
The impact of the terminal diagnosis on the patient’s physical, functional, psychosocial and environmental needs, and activities of daily living, including: the risk for pathological grief, cultural and spiritual implications, and verbal and non-verbal communication patterns.

Hospice of Michigan provides specialized health care services for people who are living with a terminal illness as well as services and support for their loved ones. These services, commonly referred to as palliative care, focus on comfort measures and symptom management. Palliative care is directed by the patient and family, in concert with the patients physician or hospice medical director. Nurses, social workers, hospice aides, spiritual care advisors and trained volunteers work as an expert team to provide care. The team focuses on providing comfort and pain relief when a cure is not possi...ble.
