Hospice of Santa Cruz County is Hiring a Clinical Administrative Assistant Per Diem Near Santa Cruz, CA
Schedule: every Sat or Sun as a consistent day and as needed otherwise Job Summary Responsible for ongoing clerical and administrative support to patient care activities; organization and management of documentation/electronic record flow related to Patient Care; assisting with coordination of services with vendors (DME, supplies, pharmacy, etc.). Essential Responsibilities Specific Functional Responsibilities
Provides administrative support to patient care staff
Handles and triages, as appropriate, patient care related calls
Provides day-to-day support to Pt. Care Manager, Triage, and patient care staff
Updates EMR with discharges, changes in setting of care, and changes in level of care
Prepares billing instructions for outside providers for outpatient procedures (labs, consults, procedures, etc.)
Updates patient information as needed in Netsmart
Orders (as directed by the nurse) and coordinates the delivery and/or pick up of durable medical equipment
Coordinates urgent delivery of supplies to patients
Notify appropriate parties upon discharge or death of patient
Processes order runs
Monitors the electronic faxes
AllDoc medical records as needed
General
Performs other related job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Pt. Care Manager
Compliance
Ensures all HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and all other regulatory/compliance requirements are understood and followed
Requirements Education/Experience
HS diploma
Medical Office Experience preferred
Skills Required
Bilingual preferred
Data Entry experience required
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet and Medical office database systems.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Pass OIG/GSA review and all required background checks
Physical Demands
Strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 10 pounds
Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen
Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
Work Environment/Environmental Condition
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer
