Hotel Colorado is Hiring a Front Desk Agent - Full Time Near Glenwood, CO

The Hotel Colorado is hiring for a full time Front Desk Agent! We are looking for applicants that have a friendly attitude with strong attention to detail. Applicants should be able to multi task and speak with a variety of people using diplomacy. Previous customer service experience is preferred. Your pay rate at this position will be $20.00 - $22/hr DOE. Some of the great perks of this job are eligibility to enroll in medical, dental and vision benefits, 401K after one year, accrued vacation time and accrued sick time. In addition, we offer a free employee meal with each shift, a sister property rate at our sister property in Crested Butte (based on availability) and use of the company ski passes to Sunlight during the season. A free bus pass is offered after 30 days of employment the type which is based on your home address. Our company has an Employee Assistance Program available to all employees and immediate family members.
Hotel Colorado has been delighting guests with its legendary hospitality since 1893. The first phase of a $10 million restoration of the Hotel Colorado was completed in August 2019 with improvements to and discoveries in six restored meeting and banquet rooms. Original brick fireplaces were uncovered in four of the rooms-Roosevelt, Garden, Taft and Devereux-during the restoration. Currently, Hotel Colorado is undergoing the second phase of renovations with comprehensive floor-to-ceiling remodels in all guest rooms. We are the only full-service hotel in Glenwood Springs; offering breakfast, lunch and dinner service, bar service, on-site catering, audio visual services, and hosting groups ranging from 5 to 300 people. We were the 2022 Silver Medal Winner for Locals Choice Best Place to work with 26 or more employees.
What would you do as a Front Desk Agent? To begin with, you are the "face" of the hotel. You are the first point of contact for many of our guests visiting Hotel Colorado. You would be answering the phones with a professional attitude, checking guests in and out and making reservations. Many guests come to the Front Desk for information about the history of the hotel or to find out things to do in the area.
What qualifications do you need for this job? An outgoing personality, the ability to speak with people on all levels, organizational skills and the ability to multi task. We prefer our candidates have previous customer service experience.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Greets guests and checks them into hotel following established procedures including but not limited to assuring all necessary information is received and entered into computer, obtaining credit card authorization for charges including incidental expenses, informing guests of pertinent hotel policies, issuing room keys, directing guests to rooms and other areas.
  • Responds to guest questions either in person or over the phone in a courteous and professional manner; provides information including but not limited to directions, shopping, dining, entertainment, hotel services, and safety.
  • Fulfills guests' needs, ensuring their stay is as pleasurable as possible; assists with dining, entertainment, or transportation reservations as needed.
  • Resolves guest problems/complaints; utilizes own best judgement in resolving issues or refers to management as needed.
  • Answers hotel internal and external phone calls and provides information as needed; takes messages for hotel guests and assures receipt.
  • Makes and confirms reservations for future hotel guests following established procedures including but not limited to assuring room availability, obtaining all necessary guest information, obtaining credit card information, assuring guest understands all hotel policies particularly with regard to reservation cancellation.
  • Checks guests out of hotel following established procedures including but not limited to computing bills, collecting payment, and providing guest with necessary paperwork.
  • Maintains front desk area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of hotel and area's attractions.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork; maintains files and records.
  • Performs clerical duties as required including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, and mailing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
