TITLE: Human Resources Generalist
TYPE: Full-Time, Exempt
COMPENSATION: Salaried: $55,000 - $65,000
LOCATION: Hotel Tango Corporate Office; 670 Virginia Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46203
SUPERVISOR: CEO

Job DescriptionAs the HR Generalist at Hotel Tango, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for managing various HR functions in our small business environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will wear many hats and play a crucial role in managing the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance, promoting employee engagement, and supporting our company's overall goals and objectives. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization and contribute to our success.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Recruitment and Hiring:
    • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process ensuring compliance with multi-state tax, hiring laws, and regulations.
    • Source candidates through various channels, screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate interview schedules.
  • Employee Onboarding and Offboarding:
    • Facilitate seamless onboarding experiences for new hires, including paperwork, orientation, and granting access to google suite, software platforms and door codes.
    • Handle offboarding procedures with professionalism and sensitivity; processing paperwork, managing exit interviews, and oversee offboarding procedures.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, concerns, or conflicts.
    • Address grievances and complaints, conduct investigations into issues, and mediate conflicts between employees.
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Oversee employee benefits programs, facilitating open enrollment, managing changes, and addressing employee inquiries regarding benefits.
    • Manage workers' compensation, unemployment, disability, and other related claims, including communicating with insurance providers and ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Payroll and Compensation:
    • Collaborate with the finance team to accurately process payroll, handle tax filings, and manage employee payroll inquiries.
    • Handle compensation-related matters such as salary reviews and bonuses with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Policy Development and Compliance:
    • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, update employee handbook and ensure compliance with labor laws.
    • Track and maintain employee licenses and certifications in all markets where Hotel Tango has employees including employee permitting and governmental requirements.
  • Performance Management:
    • Facilitate performance management processes, including quarterly conversations and annual reviews.
    • Provide feedback and support to employees and managers regarding performance improvement plans.
  • Training and Development:
    • Collaborate with people managers to facilitate training initiatives that enhance employee skills and knowledge.
    • Collaborate with people managers to facilitate professional development for employees, ensuring individual growth and organizational effectiveness.
  • HR Administration:
    • Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining employee records, managing ADP Workforce Now HRIS, updating employees on company websites, and serving as the point of contact for company news and internal communications.
    • Compile HR data, metrics and analytics, generate management reports, and analyze trends for informed decision-making.
  • Legal Compliance:
    • Stay updated on labor laws and regulations to ensure HR practices align with legal requirements.
    • Minimize the risk of legal issues or penalties through proactive compliance measures.
  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
    • QUALIFICATIONS:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management or Organizational Development required
      • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
    • SKILLS:
      • Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees, members of the management team, and in group presentations and meetings
      • Must display strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
      • Must display a strong understanding of best practices re: human resources management, employment law, and compliance
      • Proven track record of evidence based decision-making and problem-solving skills
      • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
    • EXPERIENCE:
      • 3 years of professional human resources management experience as an HR Generalist or similar role required
      • 5 years of general human resources; staffing, or talent acquisition experience required
      • Experience prioritizing competing responsibilities and planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines
      • Experience researching and gathering numerical data, presenting it in a resourceful manner, and skillfully analyzing information
      • Experience in the manufacturing or hospitality industry is preferred
      • Experience working with ADP Workforce Now required
