As an integral part of a team, the Uniform Controller is responsible for continuously looking for ways to improve each guest’s experience from providing exceptional guest service to receiving dirty uniforms, issue clean uniforms, towels as per policy set. Inspect condition of uniforms and resolve discrepancies. Works closely with laundry to insure cleaning of uniforms done up to par. Works with seamstress to replace uniforms not up to standard.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSGreet and acknowledge all arriving/departing guests.Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas at all times.Maintain complete knowledge of:Departmental opening and closing procedures.Daily staffing requirements, assignments, and documentations.Assist in attending guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.Maintain positive guest relations at all times.Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas & uniforms.Receive and sort dirty uniforms for either laundry or dry clean.Complete the Laundry Control Log for uniforms on loan to employees.Coordinate pick up of soiled uniforms and delivery of cleaned hotel uniforms from laundry service company when neededResolve any uniform discrepancies with departments and seamstress, feedback to office supervisor.Organize , assemble & liaison with seamstress for inventories for replacement of uniforms when neededRemove faded uniforms from circulating inventory.Report all shortages, damages, maintenance requests, problems availability to office supervisor.Monitor and maintain the clean and orderly condition of the uniform room – issue ‘one-for-one’ as per policy setMonitor any abuse of uniforms by employeesPromote positive relations with guests and employees.Perform all other duties as may be required or assigned.SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTSReports To: Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping office supervisor, Assistant HousekeeperSupervises: NoneEDUCATION/EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.Any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.Knowledge in sewing skills and sewing machine operationsLICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSNoneKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESAbility to anticipate guest needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.Ensure familiarity with all hotel services/features to respond to guest inquiries accurately.Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.Ability to maintain positive guest relations at all times.Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations (adds, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in processing charges).PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
