Hound & Katt Veterinarian in Casper WY is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our small animal care team. Responsibilities

- Assist veterinarians with exams, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Provide top-notch care to animals, including administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments
- Monitor and maintain animal health and safety through observation, recording, and reporting
- Perform routine tasks such as cleaning cages, preparing treatment rooms, and restocking supplies
- Operate equipment such as lab diagnostic equipment, x-ray machines, and dental equipment
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement treatment plans
- Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment, adhering to aseptic techniques
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and dental terminology
- Handle animals safely, humanely and fear free.
- Perform X-rays and other diagnostic tests as required
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing them with updates and recommendations, estimates, lab results, etc.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with industry standards and best practices

Qualifications
- Completion of a veterinary technician program or equivalent experience
- Certification or registration as a veterinary technician
- Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and dental terminology
- Experience with animal handling
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a friendly, calm demeanor
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Aseptic technique and experience with sterilization procedures
- Knowledge of x-ray procedures and lab equipment operation
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development
- Passion for animal care

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
