Housby is Hiring a Parts Counter Near Ankeny, IA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Primary PurposeHousby is looking for an experienced parts professional to service our internal and external customer base. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through the selling of parts and available dealership services.

Expectations
  • Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Answer incoming phone calls.
  • Sell parts to external customers.
  • Write and present estimates for parts.
  • Discusses uses and features of various parts, based on knowledge of equipment.
  • Locate replacement part stock numbers through catalogue or computer.
  • Examine returned parts to determine if defective, and exchange part, or issues credit, as needed.
  • Invoice customer and record sales. .
  • Follow prescribed cash, credit, and check processing procedures.
  • Collect customer payment.
  • Work with technicians to provide parts in a timely and organized fashion.
  • Assist with oversight of parts and paint inventory/ordering for Body Shop.
  • Post parts onto purchase orders (PO's) when needed.
  • Source and locate multiple brands of parts for best price.
  • Maintain and create good customer and internal relationships.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift in order to move parts in and out of storage.
  • Must be able to do heavy lifting of equipment parts.
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.
  • Expected to follow the Company's safety rules and policies.
Skills & Experience
  • Sales experience in a related field a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a parts department, preferably in the heavy duty trucking industry.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends, as needed.
  • Knowledge and experience working with the ADP dealer system a plus.
  • Ability to interpret customer needs
  • Capable of operating a forklift safely
Physical Demands
  • Oral communication over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to view a computer monitor.
  • Alpha/numeric keyboarding.
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 75 pounds of material.
  • Requires the use of both hands.
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Work Environment
  • The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions.
  • Potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning material or other toxic materials commonly found in motor vehicle service departments, some of which may be considered health hazards.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Works indoors and out.
  • Some weekends and evening hours will be required. Must be willing to work at least 1 Saturday per month.
