Housing El Dorado is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation in El Dorado County that works in the areas of affordable housing and homelessness resolution.
HED is seeking a contract bookkeeper (a local Independent Contractor) who is experienced with nonprofit bookkeeping and accounting principles. We expect that Housing El Dorado will require 12-15 hours per week of work on average. The bookkeeper works closely with our Program Coordinator, Treasurer and the Housing El Dorado Board of Directors.
Duties and Responsibilities
The bookkeeper's primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy of the HED books and produce financial reports as needed in order for the managers and Board to fulfill their fiduciary oversight responsibilities.
Ongoing duties include working with the Treasurer and Program Coordinator to record and annotate purchases and expenses, to process payroll, do monthly reconciliations, to create monthly financial reports, and to create reimbursement requests and reports for various grants and funding streams. The bookkeeper will also be the main liaison with the HED Tax accounting firm for the filing of tax returns.
Qualifications

• At least an Associate’s degree level education or 3 years experience full charge bookkeeping for a non profit organization.
• The bookkeeper must possess a knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles, both standard and non-profit.
• The bookkeeper must have a good working knowledge of Quickbooks.
• The bookkeeper must be available locally for access to check signings and organizational meetings.
