Key Responsibilities
Gathers and sustains inventory of all stage management items.
Assists with all stage management rehearsal room and on-stage activity.
Attends and assists with lighting sessions, technical sessions, rehearsals, and performances.
Tape rehearsal rooms.
Sets and cleans rehearsal room for all rehearsals.
Prepares run sheets as assigned by the Production Stage Manager
Assists with rehearsal room safety and safe practices.
Assists the Production Stage Manager in creating and distributing crew paperwork.
Supervises chorus, artists, orchestra, crew, and personnel as necessary to successfully present each production.
Assists with the oversight of dressing rooms and dressing room assignments.
Responsible for the cleanliness of all rehearsal and performance spaces.
Responsible for Sign-Ins and Next Calls for Chorus, Supers, and Dancers.
Other Duties
Provide administrative support for the Production Stage Manager and Production Department as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre or one year experience in a stage management position.
Must be fluent in reading music.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and projects.
PC proficiency and spreadsheet applications experience – Word and Excel preferred.
Available for evening and weekend work.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communicative skills.
Ability to speak smoothly and cohesively in front of an audience.
Other Skills And Abilities
Candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills.
Must be a team player.
Requires strong verbal/written communication.
Knowledge of, or familiarity with technical, wardrobe, lighting, wig, and make-up areas in opera a plus.
