Job Title: Assistant Project Manager (Water/Wastewater)
Location: Denver, CO
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our team and support the successful execution of water and wastewater construction projects. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in coordinating project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of day-to-day operations of assigned construction projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate with project team members, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Prepare and manage project schedules, including milestone deadlines, progress tracking, and critical path analysis.
- Support procurement efforts by obtaining bids, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier/subcontractor relationships.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and expenses, and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, submittals, and meeting minutes.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to review plans, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project objectives and expectations.
- Assist in the resolution of project issues and conflicts, implementing corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks and delays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with regulatory requirements and environmental standards related to water/wastewater projects is a plus.
- OSHA 30-hour certification or willingness to obtain.
