Embedded Engineer - Video Description - Responsible for designing, developing, and managing software features for a video collaboration products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Individuals in these roles may have responsibilities across multiple software engineering disciplines, and the goal is the development of creative, industry-leading, software services and solutions. Responsibilities:
Create innovative new features for our Next Generation video endpoints and conferencing solutions.
Works with the software engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal software solutions for the organization
Design and build unique capabilities to expand our Android platform.
Build prototypes and explore new ideas and designs.
Work in a very collaborative and agile team.
Plans, designs, and develops embedded software applications.
Manages software development projects in accordance with the organization's security guidelines.
Deploys and debugs software initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of complex software systems, including enterprise, middleware, firmware, and embedded systems.
Significant experience in software development, and systems engineering in a similar environment.
The ideal candidate should have experience developing and debugging embedded C/C /JAVA applications
Experience in multi-threaded embedded environments a plus
The candidate should be familiar with audio/video processing including; capture, format conversion, scaling and display
Software applications testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
Familiarity with Android Media Framework is an advantage.
Excellent communication, passion for learning and attention to detail are key to the role
Scope & Impact:
Decisions and actions typically impact multiple departments and may have downstream repercussions lasting multiple weeks.
Advises various internal, partner, and customer teams on the needs and requirements of target markets.
Works closely with architects and technology leads, directly engaging with internal and external software development teams.
Complexity:
Moderate: Some senior management interface; frequent cross-functional/cross-organizational interaction on the execution of tactics.
Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant area or demonstrated competence. Typically 4-6 years of embedded software development.
