The Project Structural Engineer must be a fully competent professional who possesses an extensive and diversified knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices in a broad area of assignments and related fields. The Project Structural Engineer must be proficient in designing structures constructed of structural steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, timber and masonry in accordance with current applicable standards and codes and be responsible for ensuring that their delegated projects are Completed on time and within the budget. The Project Engineer must have the following:
Required Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering plus 5 years' experience
• Registered Professional Engineer. (P.E.) in the State of Michigan
• Experience with the development of contract construction plans, estimates, specifications and bid documents for sanitary and wastewater structures, civil structures, specialty structures, bridges, and low-rise buildings for local municipalities, MDOT, and commercial and industrial clients in accordance with applicable agency standards and codes
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and assisting with the Senior Project Structural Engineer with structural design and analysis
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with various design methodologies such as ASD, LFD and LRFD
• Experience with structural engineering programs such as RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, Enercalc and MathCad
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
