Responsibilities

• Reviews requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications
• Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers
• Checks shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and those goods meet specifications
• Negotiates with vendors for good & services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee
• Locates suppliers, using sources such as the internet and interview them to gather information about products to be ordered
• Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate
• Compares suppliers’ bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy, forward invoices to accounting for payment
• Monitors in-house inventory movement to make sure inventory does not run out
• Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems
• Prepares, maintains, and reviews purchasing files, reports, and price lists
• Tracks the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management
• Experience in the wireless/cellular industry or manufacturing environment is a plus
• Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, punctual, detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of multitasking with a strong work ethic
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to perform with minimal supervision, as well as effectively within a team
• Possesses strong negotiation skills
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all types of people
• Must be able to pass a nationwide background check / drug screen
