The senior accountant applies generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information, reconcile financial statements, prepare general and standard journal entries, assist in budget development, and prepare standard accounting and financial reports for management.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Perform month-end close process, including preparation of account reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, monthly financial statement preparation and review.

• Daily bank account reconciliation
• Biweekly payroll review and postings
• Monthly accruals postings
• Fixed assets management and depreciation postings and reconciliations
• Month end accounting reconciliation
• Preparation of month end financial statement package
• Prepare and file sales tax
• Coordinate preparation with outside accounting firm for Federal, State and property taxes.
• Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
• Identify areas of improvement to reduce accounting errors
• Assist on budget preparation and monitoring.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Solid understanding of accounting processes.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and related products.
• Ability to build positive rapport with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as outside the company.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and a strong customer-focused demeanor with demanding clientele.
• Excellent time management skills, detail-orientation and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills and proficient in English. Must be able to articulate needs and convey information verbally and in writing effectively with employees, customers, supervisors, and co-workers throughout the organization.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 4-6 years experience required.
