A Day In The Life
Job SummaryThe District Sales Manager oversees and directs the Field Sales activities of Territory Managers in South District covering Georgia and Alabama. This position is responsible for achieving HES sales quotas for the district as well as all assigned territories. The District Sales Manager is responsible for the training and performance appraisal of the salespeople within the district. The District Sales Manager implements sales/marketing programs that can be utilized throughout the entire region. In this position, implementing long- and short-term goals, personnel deployment, succession planning, training, and improving “Go to Market” strategies are critical components supporting the overall success of Hubbell Electrical Solutions. Incumbent should reside preferably in Atlanta, GA area or Birmingham, AL areaJob OverviewRoles and Responsibilities:
  • Hires, trains, and manages Territory Managers/Agents.
  • Develops and conducts instructional sessions with sales trainees, building succession/career growth plans.
  • Manages pricing/inventory initiatives to maximize profit expansion for HES.
  • Promotes vertical market sales strategies through multiple HES brands.
  • Provides monthly reports to the RVP on key district trends including competitive analysis.
  • Conducts performance appraisal reviews annually for Territory Managers within the district.
  • Drives new products, cross selling, and conversion initiatives throughout the district.
  • Develops distributor expansion strategies with support of RVP and VPSAs.
  • Develops district strategies and coordinates the activities of Territory Managers to maximize productivity and improve time management.
  • Controls expenses and meets annual budget guidelines.
Additional ResponsibilitiesAdditional Responsibilities:
  • Consults with RVP on performance of Territory Managers within the district.
  • Collaborates with the RVP in preparation of annual sales plans, marketing strategies, promotional programs, and forecasts by brand for the district.
  • Drives growth in Industrial/OEM segments.
  • Establishes/maintains relationships with key distributor management and all major end users within the district.
  • Analyzes territory boundaries and territory manager responsibilities, making appropriate adjustment recommendations to the RVP.
  • Conducts annual distributor HES training schools.
  • Conducts district planning and training meetings.
  • Prepares and develops Territory Managers for future career opportunities in the newly aligned HES structure.
  • Analyzes Distribution coverage annually and makes recommendations to the Regional Vice President on adding, removing, or aligning with specific distribution.
  • Utilize Salesforce to enhance opportunities through sales funnel growth and data accuracy.

Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required or 10 years industry experience.
  • Industry experience preferred.
  • At least five to seven years sales experience.
  • Knowledge of end user, contractor, specification influences and how they affect construction and purchasing cycles.
  • Experience with electrical distribution relationships
  • Possesses leadership skills that will help unify goals while managing varying selling styles.
  • Proficient in MS Office and stays current with technology enhancements.
  • Analytical skills required.
  • 50-60% travel
