Huckleberry Youth Programs is Hiring a Senior Wellness Intervention Specialist Near San Rafael, CA

Position SummaryThe Senior Wellness Intervention Specialist plays a leading role within the Mental Health Team in Marin. The position has five primary responsibilities:
  • Scheduling, planning and facilitating psychoeducational workshops in middle schools, high schools, and at community sites throughout Marin County
  • Conducting individual case management at the schools and on site during Teen Clinic
  • Mentoring the Wellness Intervention Specialist staff or interns/volunteers
  • Planning and conducting community outreach and engagement opportunities
  • Track and record new referrals that come in for Case Management and Therapy.
  • Work alongside a Mental Health Manager to assign referrals to team members.
Essential Functions
  • Schedule, plan and facilitate psychoeducational workshops in middle schools, high schools, and
community sites, on topics including Harm Reduction, Substance Use, Addiction, Self-care and Mental Health.
  • Support with referrals and mental health waitlist when necessary.
  • Plan and conduct community outreach and events
  • Mentor Wellness Intervention Specialist and interns/volunteers
  • Conduct research and develop lesson plans on Mental Health issues
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, in-services and regular supervision
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for activities
  • Provide registration and clinic flow support during Teen Tuesday clinic hours
  • Assist Mental Health Manager with evaluation, data entry, and monitoring of outcomes

  • Be comfortable with a fast-paced environment that is frequented by youth.
  • Must be able to address crises as they emerge in an office setting as well as in the field.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Exercise discretion and professional judgment at all times in keeping with the responsibility carried personally and by the agency for the care and welfare of youth and families.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentThis position operates out of the Huckleberry Youth Programs Marin Multi Service Center. This role routinely includes driving to various schools, community sites. The position also includes the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Huckleberry Youth Programs Marin Multi Service Center is located in San Rafael and is accessible by bus, although the role includes personal access to a car.
Physical DemandsThis role requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend, sit or stand as necessary and climb stairs. The role requires the ability to teach in a classroom, including writing on the whiteboard, facilitating conversations among students, and moving around the classroom to facilitate group activities.
Required Education And Experience
  • Six years related combined experience of work and education
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to speak Spanish strongly preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • TB clearance
  • Valid First Aid Training certificate
  • Valid CA driver’s license & clear DMV record
  • Transportation (requires a car or access to a car for traveling to sites)
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
