POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of a Deputy Executive Director, the Director of Teens & Young Adults Services will be responsible for direct oversight of Education, College Access and Readiness, Technology, Recreation, and Civic Engagement for approximately 200 teens and young adults, between the ages of 13-24, with a primary focus on programming for high school age youth (13-18 year olds). This position will be responsible for directing a team, budget preparation, assessment and evaluation of programs, contractual compliance, as well as the development and implementation of responses to community needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA in Education, Social Work, Higher Education or related field with minimum 4-5 years of educational, career readiness support with teens (ages 13-18) in a community center/non-profit setting. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. A MA degree is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
WORKING CONDITIONS: Travel between multiple sites consisting of schools, offices, and community center environments and other locations such as trips with participants. Available to work evenings and some weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The position requires constant communication with participants and co-workers; exchange accurate information in these situations. Frequent operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as phone and copy machines. Occasionally lift up to 25lbs, standing for long periods, as well as remain stationary for long periods.
