PhysicalTherapy Assistant ( PTA ) Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist Assistant ( PTA) performs patient related activities under the direction of a physicaltherapist. Services may include but are not limited to purposeful activities orinterventions to maximize the independence and the maintenance of health of anyindividual who is limited by a physical injury or illness, a cognitiveimpairment, a psychosocial dysfunction, a mental illness, a developmental orlearning disability, or an adverse environmental condition.
Physical Therapy Assistant ( PTA ) MajorDuties and Critical Tasks:
- Assisting thephysical therapist when performing tests, evaluation and complex treatmentprocedures
- Observing, recording and reporting to thetherapist the condition, reactions and responses related to assigned duties
- Assisting the therapist in consulting withpatients, family members and other health care professionals as appropriate
- Assisting with the care of the physical therapydepartment and equipment
- Assisting the physical therapist with in-serviceprograms and other meetings as assigned
Physical Therapy Assistant ( PTA ) RequiredEducation and Experience:
- Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) topractice as a Physical Therapist Assistant ( PTA ) in the state of Florida
- Prior experience in Physical Therapy, preferred
- Prior experience in Skilled Nursing, preferred
