Position SummaryAs a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various financial functions related to insurance operations and primary duties include financial close activities.
Essential Duties
- Responsible for monthly financial close activities including preparation of journal entries.
- Ensure proper documentation and supporting schedules for all financial transactions.
- Reconcile and analyze assigned balance sheet accounts and verify that all reconciling items are researched and resolved
- Prepare monthly and quarterly variances analyses for management reporting.
- Assist in documenting internal processes/controls and developing improvements as appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
- Process return premium payments.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
- Accounting degree required
- P&C Insurance Industry Experience required
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including nested formulas, PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and Index Match.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and interact effectively with various management levels.
- Excellent prioritization and follow-through skills.
