Position: Assistant Shelter Manager – Webster House (PODS)
General Description:
The Assistant Shelter Manager is responsible for coordinating with the Shelter Manager, the supervision and execution of the operations of the Overnight Shelter. They will assist with scheduling of staff, transportation from the screening site and other shelter operations such as meals, volunteers, laundry, distribution of personal hygiene items and enforcement of general policies and procedures of the shelter. The Assistant Shelter Manager will provide administrative support to the Shelter Manager and will assist with collecting the daily and monthly statistics related to the shelter. The Assistant Shelter Manager may be required to work as a shelter coordinator when necessary.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Some college level course work in related field may be beneficial.
Experience: Some human service experience, which may include sensitivity to homeless, mentally ill, low income and other needy populations.
Valid NYS Driver’s License required
Other: Interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently, yet as part of a team. Personal telephone required
