Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Hudson Valley is one of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system and serves nearly 9,000 students each year. Qualifications for Employment
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (OR) Business Administration or related field (OR) Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field and three years of recent accounting experience in a computerized environment. Good working knowledge of computer applications, Banner software experience preferred; ability to collect and analyze data; ability to communicate orally or through written word.
Nature and Scope of Duties:
The Assistant for Financial Analysis, reports to the Associate Bursar and/or their designee and performs the following duties;
1. Analyzes general ledger activity and follow up on any discrepancies.
2. Perform monthly account analysis.
3. Prepares various reports including but not limited to basic financial statements and progress reports.
4. Prepares report of daily reconciliation of general ledger accounts and daily deposit.
5. Records journal entries and direct pay requests as needed.
6. Manages delinquent student accounts to include sending accounts to the College's collection agencies and processing collection agency payments.
7. Daily review of student accounts with unapplied payments.
8. Assists with reconciliation of account funds and analysis of student account balances to general ledger posting in a computerized system.
9. Assists with student registration process by recording certificates of residence, third party contracts, payments and refunds.
10. During peak enrollment periods assists with phone and email inquiries, and processing of payments and assist students in the lab with making payment and uploading certificate of residences.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
This is a 37.5-hour work week position with a salary range of $44,000-$46,000.
