Hudson Way Immersion School is Hiring an Early childhood education (ECE) Teacher/ supervisor - Fall 2024 Near Stirling, NJ

At HudsonWay Immersion School, the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher/Supervisor position provides ELA with instruction to our kindergarten students and 30-minute lessons to our ECE classes, as well as serving as the supervisor to our ECE classes. The ideal candidate will have an understanding and commitment of early childhood growth and development and a proven track record of early childhood success. Experience in supervision and teaching pre-k is required. Knowledge of The Creative Curriculum and Pre-K-to-3 and supervisor certifications are preferred.

As an Early Childhood English Language Arts teacher and Supervisor at HudsonWay Immersion School in Stirling, NJ, you will be a specialist, rather than a homeroom teacher. Most of our students’ day is taught in either Mandarin or Spanish by native-speaking teachers. The ECE teacher/supervisor will teach 30-minute lessons to our pre-K 3 and 4 students, and one kindergarten ELA class. The remainder of the schedule will be used to observe and provide feedback to our five ECE classroom teachers and assistants.

Major responsibilities:

  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs of students i.e. differentiates instruction for children of different linguistic, cultural and academic backgrounds, as well as for children with different learning styles, needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
  • Supervises, plans professional development and provides feedback to early childhood teachers on a weekly basis.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Conducts parent-teacher conferences two times per year
  • Knows early intervention strategies to support the staff, students, and families.
  • Orders ECE & ELA materials to support the program.
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Employs a variety of instructional strategies, inclusive of immersion techniques, and instructional media, based on the needs/capabilities of the students.
  • Strives to implement by instruction and action our instructional goals and objectives.
  • Maintains accurate and correct records as required by law, school policy and administrative regulations.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.

Qualifications:

  • English language proficiency -excellent
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in P-3 or elementary education required
  • 3-4 years of classroom experience with pre-K aged children required
  • Supervision experience preferred
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills necessary
  • Excellent organizational and classroom management skills expected
  • Strong computer skills, and use of technology in the classroom
