Tax Manager Job Description and Responsibilities

• Tax planning: Develop and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize compliance
• Tax preparation: Oversee the preparation and filing of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns
• Tax strategy development: Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and analyze their impact on company operations and financials
• Tax return reviews: Review tax filings for accuracy and completeness
• Tax audits: Manage tax audits and inquiries
• Tax advice: Provide tax planning advice to clients and other stakeholders
• Tax collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis
• Manage the tax team. Train new and existing tax staff. Coordinate accounting staff and assess their performance
• Proven work experience as a Tax Manager
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
• Knowledge of tax software and MS Office
• Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
• Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills
• Analytical skills with detail orientation

Skills/Qualifications/Requirements

• Solid verbal and written communication
• Excellent personnel development and delegation skills, including training/instruction
• 5 years experience in tax preparation
• CPA designation
