Hueman PE Talent Solutions is Hiring a Director of Maintenance and Engineering Near Beaumont, CA

Perricone Farms is hiring a Director of Maintenance and Engineering for a full-time position in Beaumont, CA 92223.
 As the Director of Maintenance and Engineering, your primary responsibility is to oversee and optimize all aspects of maintenance operations within the manufacturing facility. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of production equipment and facilities while leading a team of maintenance professionals. In addition, the position will require project management skills for designing and installing processing equipment consistent with plant cost-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute maintenance strategies aligned with business goals to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  2. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide a team of 1 maintenance manager, 1 supervisor, and 9 technicians to ensure optimal performance and skill development. This includes employee relation concerns and approving timecards.
  3. Maintenance Operations: Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities to sustain equipment functionality and maximize uptime.
  4. Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement within the maintenance department.
  6. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal safety protocols, fostering a culture of 100% employee-owned safety among maintenance team.
  7. Vendor and Contract Management: Collaborate with external vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to procure necessary materials, services, and equipment.
  8. Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize FIXX (computer maintenance management system, “CMMS”) data-driven insights to evaluate maintenance performance, create reports, and make informed decisions to improve operations.
  9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with other departments such as production/operations, warehouse, and quality assurance to align maintenance activities with overall business objectives.
  10. Emergency Response: Develop and implement contingency plans for unforeseen equipment failures or emergencies, minimizing production disruptions. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications is preferred.
    • Degree in Engineering a plus
  • Proven experience in maintenance, 7 years in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food and beverage manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software (FIXX), Redzone, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance best practices, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbally and written) for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, prioritize tasks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Spanish is a plus.
