Walpole Outdoors is hiring a Full-Time Product Manager in Foxborough, MA. 
For almost a century, Walpole Outdoors has been a leading provider of beautifully crafted fences, pergolas, arbors, gates, and railings designed for modern living. We bring our customer’s outdoor inspiration to life from conception to manufacturing, to installation.We are now looking to scale the business geographically and expand our reach within the commercial markets to work more closely with Landscape Architects and High-End Builders/Contractors. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Product Manager to lead our product management and development efforts. The product manager will be responsible for defining and managing our product range, developing innovative product roadmaps, and optimizing market positioning to drive business growth; they will play a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing success of our products.Key Responsibilities:Product Management

  • Define the product range and manage product life cycles, including expansion and rationalization.
  • Establish the product scope, definitions, limitations, and options for key categories.
  • Monitor product performance and key metrics, providing regular reports to leadership.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all products.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product improvements and innovation.
Product Development
  • Develop the product roadmap and innovation strategy, ensuring sustainable competitive advantages.
  • Oversee the stage gate process for product development, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new products.
  • Conduct continuous market and business analysis to identify trends and report on changes in the company's product mix.
Market Analysis and Pricing
  • Utilize cost and market analysis to set and adjust pricing.
  • Optimize product margins through strategic pricing and specifications.
  • Monitor competitive activity and develop strategies for company and product differentiation.
Cross-functional Collaboration and Support
  • Collaborate with marketing to create effective marketing assets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and successful product launches.
  • Deliver detailed product presentations, hands-on training, and field support to internal teams and external partners as needed.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
  • Manage and source vendors for externally supplied products.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
Key Results
    • Full range of differentiated products positioned by Application (e.g. Pool Fence, Pergola, Balcony fence, etc)
    • Defined scope, design options, and differentiation for each product
    • Growth plans for each key product category
    • Margin improvement for each key product category (target 70% Contribution Margin)
    • Clearly understood product position and a highly trained sales force
    • Installation instructions for both internal and external installation crews
Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 5 years experience in product management or product development role at a business that generates at least $50m in revenue; a track record of successfully managing product life cycles and developing new products.
    • Experience in a manufacturing business.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and use data to make informed decisions.
    • Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
    • Financial acumen for managing margins, pricing strategies, and cost analyses.
    • Highly energetic and self-driven, with a strong commitment to achieving goals and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.
    • Technically proficient with strong technical writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex product information.
    • Customer Focus with a keen understanding of customer needs and market demands
    • Innovative and adaptable problem-solver, capable of staying ahead of trends and driving product improvements in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience or knowledge in the Building Products market or Landscape Architecture
    • Experience in manufacturing businesses with revenue exceeding $100 million
