Tax Manager Job Description and Responsibilities
- Tax planning: Develop and implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize compliance
- Tax preparation: Oversee the preparation and filing of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns
- Tax strategy development: Stay abreast of changes in tax legislation and analyze their impact on company operations and financials
- Tax return reviews: Review tax filings for accuracy and completeness
- Tax audits: Manage tax audits and inquiries
- Tax advice: Provide tax planning advice to clients and other stakeholders
- Tax collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis
- Manage the tax team. Train new and existing tax staff. Coordinate accounting staff and assess their performance
- Proven work experience as a Tax Manager
- Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
- Knowledge of tax software and MS Office
- Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
- Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills
- Analytical skills with detail orientation
- Solid verbal and written communication
- Excellent personnel development and delegation skills, including training/instruction
- 5 years experience in tax preparation
- CPA designation
