Senior Business Analyst

Location: Hybrid (Tampa, Florida)

Job Type: 12-month contract

Pay rate: $45-$50/hour (depending on experience)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our client. The ideal candidate will be adept at interacting with business users to elicit both business and technical requirements, guiding development and QA teams, and ensuring the seamless translation of business needs into technical solutions. Additionally, the candidate will play a key role in leading Scrum teams and developing strategic visions for our projects.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Business Analyst:

• Interact with business users to gather and define business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with Tech Product Owners to align requirements with the program vision.
• Facilitate communication and understanding between users from various disciplines.
• Guide Developers and QA teams in interpreting business requirements and translating them into technical specifications.
• Create and review JIRA stories for each build cycle.
• Prioritize stories in collaboration with Business, Senior Business Analysts, and Tech Product Owners.
• Perform Scrum Master duties, including leading Scrum teams and facilitating Agile ceremonies (approx. 2 hours daily).
• Develop and present bi-monthly demo decks to Business Stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the strategic vision for projects.

Qualifications of a Senior Business Analyst:

• Proven experience in eliciting information, writing user stories, and documenting in JIRA.
• In-depth understanding of AGILE methodology; AGILE and SCRUM Master certifications are a plus.
• Strong listening and communication skills.
• Over 5 years of experience in similar roles within financial institutions.
• Exposure to risk or finance within a financial services context is a bonus.
