As an Electronics Testing Associate at Human-I-T, you play a critical role in our Processing team, focusing on assessing, testing, repairing, and preparing donated consumer electronics for reuse or resale. This role requires strong technical skills, curiosity, effective problem-solving abilities, and keen decision-making skills. Ideal candidates will possess CompTIA A certification or have a solid background in electronics hardware management and IT repair.

This position is located in a secure, NAID AAA certified and ISO certified facility, ensuring the highest standards of data security and operational integrity. As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment, all new hires are required to undergo a background check and drug screening prior to their start date. Our active warehouse setting presents inherent risks such as equipment operation, material handling, and the need for constant vigilance to prevent accidents.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assessment and Testing:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of donated electronics to assess their functional status and identify operational issues.

  • Utilize diagnostic software to comprehensively test device functionalities, documenting results accurately for further processing.

  • Determine the optimal outlet channel for each product based on its specifications, performance, and potential market value.

• Repair and Refurbishment:

  • Identify and source necessary replacement parts for damaged or malfunctioning devices, considering cost-effectiveness and parts availability.

  • Perform necessary repairs or part replacements to meet functional and aesthetic standards required for resale or donation.

  • Estimate the resale value of refurbished devices, using discernment to maximize revenue while maintaining competitive pricing.

• Skills and Knowledge Development:

  • Stay current with the latest electronic repair techniques and industry developments through ongoing training and personal research.

  • Actively participate in team meetings to exchange knowledge, tackle complex repair cases, and brainstorm solutions.

  • Leverage online resources and technical communities to enhance skills and knowledge, particularly in rare or outdated technologies.

• Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety standards and SOPs, ensuring a safe working environment.

  • Engage in regular training sessions to maintain and enhance technical and safety skills.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

• Proficiency or experience in electronics hardware, IT repair, or refurbishment.

• CompTIA A certification or equivalent technical qualification is highly preferred.

• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to assess and optimize product handling.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively under tight deadlines.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
