Job Description:
  • Knowledgeable in Artificial Lift with specific focus on Sucker Rod Lift and Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) design and operation.
    • Interact with relevant personnel to optimize Artificial Lift systems.
    • Diagnose well and surface equipment problems and identify downhole failures.
    • Troubleshoot abnormal production conditions and operational issues.
  • Ability to generate workover procedures for rod lift and electric submersible pump well repairs.
    • Recommend and implement remedial actions to improve runtime and reduce well failures.
    • Assist with generating failure tracking metrics as needed.
    • Assist with rod designs, tubing designs, and artificial lift equipment.
    • Utilize Rodstar, XBAL, and other pertinent programs to generate rod string designs and incorporate designs into workover procedures.
  • Collaborate with lease operators, production foreman, and production engineers to optimize production volumes and minimize downtime.
  • Utilize well history coupled with production data to work with Production Engineers to identify downhole well intervention and workover candidates. Research well design and workover history as needed.
  • Familiar with various types of Artificial Lift automation equipment including Lukin Well Managers, Weatherford Well Pilots, and other types of Pump Off Controllers (POCs) /variable Frequency Drives (VSDs).
    • Identify optimization opportunities and uplift potential from parameter adjustments to artificial lift equipment and settings.
  • Track and analyze data pertaining to well deliverability (Fluid Levels, Echometer Data Outputs) and provide recommendations where applicable.
    • Track and analyze data from Production Surveillance Systems (XSPOC, Facility SCADA, Etc.)
  • Work with production reporting software (P-2 Merrick), Site View, or Well View by entering data and tracking metrics.
    • Assist with production reporting software data entry and troubleshooting when needed.
Required Skills:
  • General knowledge of spreadsheet and database construction.
  • Knowledge base with sucker rod lift and electric submersible pump artificial lift methods strongly preferred.
  • Experience with cost tracking and other areas pertaining to operating expense analysis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), P2 - Merrick, Peloton Software (Wellview, Siteview), Echometer Software, Theta Software Suite (XSPOC, Rodstar, XBAL), AutoCAD, and Open Invoice preferred but will train the right candidate.
  • Strong written and inter-personal communication skills
  • Team oriented mindset and ability to integrate with North Dakota personnel as well as Dallas based partners
Required Experience:
  • Two-year technical degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as an engineering tech or related field. Bakken specific experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of petroleum industry data collection and analysis preferred.
