Position: Early Intervention Physical Therapist

Job Overview: Huntingdon County PRIDE’s Physical Therapist addresses the promotion of sensorimotor function of an infant or toddler with a disability through enhancement of musculoskeletal status, neurobehavioral organization, perceptual and motor development, cardiopulmonary status, and effective environmental adaptation, which includes the following:

· Screening, evaluation, and assessment to identify movement dysfunction.

· Obtaining, interpreting, and integrating information appropriate to program planning to prevent, alleviate, or compensate for movement dysfunction and related functional problems.

· Providing services or treatment to prevent, alleviate, or compensate for movement dysfunction and related functional problems.

The physical therapist follows the Early Intervention guidelines and services children ages 0-3 in their homes. Therapists work directly with families to develop their schedules. Therapists can utilize the office to type reports or work on documentation from home.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Implement family-centered, routine-based coaching practices as mandated by OCDEL in the client's home. 

· Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.

· Complete all reports and documentation (including, but not limited to, session notes, quarterly progress reports, service initiation forms, ECO reports, and developmental profiles).

· Implement best practice teaching strategies with families. Provide information to families on child development, communication disorders, medical issues, and community programs.

· Complete 30 hours of annual mandated EI training

· Early Intervention therapists must complete coaching training as mandated by OCDEL.

· Meet all deadlines/timelines to maintain Early Intervention compliance.

Qualifications:

· Pennsylvania Physical Therapist Licensure

o The physical therapist will hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree (if grandfathered in by the state of PA; otherwise, the physical therapist must meet the current requirements of Doctor of Physical Therapy) from an accredited physical therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association established in an accredited medical school, hospital, college or university which course has provided adequate instruction in basic sciences, clinical science, and physical therapy theory and procedures.

o Applicant must pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)

o A physical therapist must complete 30 hours of continuing education during each preceding biennial renewal period. 

o ACT 31 Child Abuse and Mandated Reporter Training: Must complete 3 hours of approved training for initial licensure.

· Child Abuse Clearance

· Criminal Background Clearance
