The Role
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
The Future Submarine Design and Undersea Warfare (USW) division is responsible for concept design, development, and execution of the SSN(X) new design program along with other smaller design programs for VIRGINIA Class submarines and other USW platforms.
The candidate will support the design, development, and integration of advanced electrical systems for submarines and USW platforms. The candidate will develop knowledge on a variety of submarine electrical systems such as sonar and electronic warfare.
The candidate will develop experience with the construction and modernization of SSNs, including familiarity with submarine specific requirements, and with the processes for submarine modernization.
The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work with both Government and industry teams to achieve project objectives.
This position is for Department E35 - SSN(X) Platform and USW and is located in Pocasset, MA
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
