Facility Maintenance Technician

Huntsman is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Auburn Hills, Michigan .

This position will report to the SUP Manager.

Job Scope

Good understanding of area of responsibility and understands relationships with other areas such as electrical, HVAC, carpentry, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, and mill-writing at a relatively basic level.

As the Facility Maintenance Technician, you will :

• Perform complex preventative maintenance functions.
• Perform routine trouble shooting and take appropriate action.
• Seek and consult higher level position for more complex issues.
• Perform assigned tasks under minimal supervision.

Other general responsibilities :

• Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
• Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
• Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

Required Qualifications :

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

• High School diploma with 5 years of relevant working experience.
• OR Associate degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant working experience.

Specific Skills and Knowledge :

• Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
• Predictive maintenance vibration monitoring / analysis experience preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical functions.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment repair and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to determine improvements and corrective actions concerning equipment repair and to institutionalize in written documents.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment and tools.
• Time management, organizational and prioritizing skills.

• Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and / or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.
