The Supply Chain Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager and has responsibility over the following Suwanee Manufacturing functions/operations: supply chain planning, production control (planning/inventory control,), sheet metal department, copper manufacturing cell, warehousing, shipping, and support for new product development.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Procure purchased parts according to MRP and B/P analysis. Keep in line w/ needs of production schedule. Expedite as necessary to support customer needs. Develop proactive systems to supply on-time delivery support manufacturing and meeting inventory objectives.
2. Drive supplier improvement: cost, quality, delivery, and inventory.
3. Manage the production schedule. Lead coordination between manufacturing, customer service, engineering, and purchasing.
4. Direct the department to ensure fair and consistent discipline and maintain high employee morale. Implement programs for the development of the department’s personnel.
5. Lead the inventory process, including physical inventory, cycle counting, class-A warehouse, auditing plant materials systems like Kanban and MRP, etc.
6. Support new product development with detailed supply chain planning.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree Required.
7 years of manufacturing experience and knowledge of materials, purchasing as well as inventory techniques are a must.
Working knowledge of systems, facilities planning, shop and equipment capabilities and engineering practices and procedure.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of MRP/Kanban.
APICS Certification, preferred.
Knowledge of Baan system is a plus.
