The Accounts Receivable Clerk processes remittance files both electronically and manually accurately and balances with the daily deposits.

Works closely with other Business Office staff to enhance billing accuracy and ensure that all medically necessary services are being reimbursed correctly.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Posts all self-pay and commercial insurance payments received into the EHR
• Posts on-site receipts and balances with the deposited amount.
• Posts Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross remittance information
• Processes Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT’s) on a daily basis to obtain correct deposit dates and amounts of remittances.
• Maintains client authorizations with the Practice Management system.
• Assists in credentialing staff with commercial insurance payers.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

• Excellent math and reasoning skills
• Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office and Google products with an emphasis on Excel

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• High School diploma or equivalent
• General office experience and computer training with three years’ experience or special training in cash handling protocol and / or insurance billing experience with a private company or medical institution

Associate degree in Business or Medical Office
