The Emergency Department specializes in emergency medicine and operates 24 hours a day. The department sees a variety of patients from newborns to geriatrics who come by ambulance or walk in. The Emergency Department provides the initial treatment and stabilization of patients who come with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which can be life threatening.
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the RN contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients in the Emergency Department and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.

Education: | Graduate of accredited nursing program (Must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire). | Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree in Nursing. |
Experience: | One (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficacy. | |
License(s)/Certification(s): | Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire. Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or within 1 year from date of hire. Must possess and maintain current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or within 1 year from date of hire. Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization(PEARS) within 1 year of hire date.
