We’re looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Scheduling efforts. The Senior Manager of Scheduling is responsible for the effective development and management of the airline’s flight schedule including the creation, distribution, and modification of long-range and mid-range schedules. Working closely with various teams the successful candidate will also be responsible for optimizing business strategy for routes, schedules, fleet, partnerships and contracts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop future airline schedules for Cape Air designed to maximize profit while at the same time considering the myriad constraints and criteria inherent in airline scheduling: connectivity, operational limitations, regulations, competitive schedules, market dynamics, etc.
- Develop and deploy rule-compliant holiday peak schedules
- Work collaboratively across multiple workgroups to fulfill the strategic and operational goals of the schedule
- Support Intermediate Scheduling’s allocation of ad hoc back-up capacity
- Complete iterative and ad hoc what-if scheduling assignments
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries about schedules
- Monitor competitive capacity
- Be the Planning SME for schedule distribution working closely with and supporting the Publications team in all distribution efforts
- Assist with development of pilot bid lines as requested
- Other duties as assigned
- 5 or more years of direct experience in aircraft scheduling with knowledge of airline route planning
- Strong analytical ability, critical thinking and communcation skills
- Organized and capable of meeting stringent deadlines
- Able to work both collaboratively and independently
- Experience optimizing the various limitations of competing operational constraints with overall scheduling goals
- Ability to interact and form consensus with a diverse group of internal/external stakeholders
- Familiarity with flight scheduling software such as Sabre Schedule Manager, Oasis, Zulu, or other similar program
- Previous experience with electronic flight schedule publishing
- Computer technical skills – including MS Excel, PowerPoint, maintaining database files, etc.
- Position is in person at headquarters in Hyannis, MA
