Job Description:
The Hyatt Place Hoffman Estates is looking for a friendly, motivated, and hardworking individual to join our Front Desk Team. The Front Desk/ Guest Services Agent will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service and accommodating our guests as they visit our business. The ideal candidate is energetic, enthusiastic, and personable.
Position Summary:
The Front Desk Agent provides a warm welcome and checks in and checks out our guests. They assist guests efficiently, courteously and professionally in all Front Desk related functions providing excellent guest service.
The Front Desk Agent completes daily tasks, room assignments and blocking providing efficient, gracious and professional guest service. The Front Desk Agent also provide solutions to problems and provides quick service recovery during service breakdowns.

Core Responsibilities:
- Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times and anticipate and exceed guest expectations.
- Responsible and accountable for issued bank. Count bank at beginning and end of shift. Report all cash over/shorts to management. Comply with hotel and department accounting procedures. Consistently follow all cash handling procedures
- Give a warm and sincere greeting. Check the guest in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner. Use the guest’s name at least twice. Anticipate the guest’s needs and exceed their expectations. Give the guest a fond farewell/warm good-bye. Thank them and invite them back
- Offer and properly handle requests for wake-up calls and “do not disturb” requests.
- Effectively operate the hotel computer system or property management system upon certification.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, hotel services, hours of operation, room locations, room rates, amenities, hotel surroundings (i.e. mall, restaurants, and medical facilities).
- Monitor room availability, selling strategies, discounts and frequent guest program benefits.
- Inform management of any guest or system-related issues.
- Follow correct check-in/check-out procedures for all guests.
- Possess working knowledge of reservation procedures. Know cancellation and walk procedures
- Ensure security and confidentiality of all guest and hotel information and material.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret and effectively explain items such as common reports, guest folios and emergency procedures.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to work varied days, nights, and weekends, and overnights
- Self-motivated and ability to multitask
- Positive attitude and willingness to help others
- Open availability
