Description
HYDAC is seeking a Design Engineer for our Mobile Hydraulics Division in Wooster Ohio.
HYDAC is a market leader in the fluid power industry worldwide. We work closely with our customers to develop innovative and technologically advanced fluid power solutions.

Under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor, the Design Engineer will assist in the development of new products and support and improve existing products
DUTIES
- Create and modify customer and manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, test procedures, work instructions, hydraulic schematics etc. related to mobile spool valve design
- Design new components and assemblies to satisfy specific customer requirements
- Interface with the engineering lab to coordinate testing of prototypes
- Develop performance criteria for product test specifications
- Initiate, update and maintain systems and workflows for efficient product design
- Modify and correct engineering documentation to correlate with current manufacturing and assembly methods
- Provide technical support to operations, manufacturing and quality teams in the factory
- Communicate with customers and suppliers
- Participate with other departments to address manufacturing, design or quality concerns, and ensure the continuous improvement of designs and processes
- Occasional domestic or international travel may be required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, or 3 years relevant work experience
- 3D CAD proficiency using SolidWorks or similar
- Knowledge of drafting and geometric tolerancing practices
- Knowledge of hydraulic principles, valve types and functions
- Understanding of hydraulic diagrams and symbols
- Experience in hydraulic spool valves, sections, castings and manifold design is an advantage
- Must work well under time constraints and pressure
- Must be able to work well independently and in group settings
- Logic driven troubleshooting ability
- Strong attention to detail
- Open mind to continuous learning
