Hydra-Flex, Inc. is Hiring an Assembler I Near Savage, MN

JOB SUMMARY

The Assembler I performs manual labor along a production line. This position works in one work center within a department. Duties include assembly of components, sub-assemblies and examining items as they are produced. Additionally, the Assembler operates and troubleshoots production line machinery.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 

  1. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  3. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  4. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  5. Work Environment: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety to equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors and work boots/shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
  6. Physical Demands: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. The employee must be able to work in a standing position 50% of the time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit and reach with hands and arms.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES 

TECHNICAL 

  1. Operate and troubleshoot production line machinery.
  2. Able to work in one center within a department.
  3. Responsible for attaching or affixing pre-manufactured components and parts.
  4. Complete daily production logs.
  5. Must ensure that time, material and waste is minimized.
  6. Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub-assemblies.
  7. Assist machinists in repair and other miscellaneous work.
  8. Possess, acquires, and maintains the technical expertise required to do the job effectively.
  9. Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
  10. Ability to effectively hear, understand and follow directions and instructions in response to management direction.

SAFETY

  1. Operate within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s).
  2. Clean and maintain work area.
  3. Observes safety and security procedures; uses equipment and materials properly.

QUALITY 

  1. Responsible for quality control and making adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications.
  2. Perform preventive maintenance (PM’s) on production line area.
  3. Focuses and guides self in accomplishing work objectives; strives to increase productivity.

OTHER

  1. Perform back up duties for other plant employees.
  2. Promotes cooperation and commitment within the team to achieve goals and deliverables.
  3. Exemplary attendance and punctuality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; completes work in a timely manner.
  4. Adapts to changing business needs, conditions and work responsibilities.
  5. Maintains stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization.
  6. Other duties as assigned.
