Responsibilities: The Supplier Quality Engineer / Quality Engineer position is responsible for administering programs of surveillance, assessment, and quality system development within the supply base that contributes to the many cutting-edge products offered by Hydro-Gear. Core Responsibilities of our Supplier Quality Engineer / Quality Engineer:
Administer and improve Supplier Quality Programs with responsibilities for system, process, and product audits and scorecard activity
Validate Supplier APQP functions
Work daily with purchasing, inspection and suppliers to resolve quality related issues; disposition non-conforming material; support buyer in providing fit for use materials
Assure timely and effective Supplier Corrective Actions.
Implement and maintain effective reporting system for key issues and opportunities for improvement in supplier quality performance
Develop suppliers’ use of quality and statistical tools in problem identification and resolution
Up to 40% of domestic and up to 5% international travel
Requirements
Preferred bachelor’s degree with minimum one-year manufacturing experience, or associate's degree with at least 3 years of manufacturing experience
Experience with manufacture of electronics / electronic components a plus.
Willing to travel up to 40% domestically and up to 5% internationally.
Strong knowledge in MS Office products.
Excellent written and spoken communications abilities.
