BOYS and GIRLS GYMNASTICS TEAM COACH
General SummaryUnder the direct supervision of the Gymnastics Supervisor and Hyland Hills District rules and policies the Gymnastics Coach will provide instruction of recreational levels through competitive levels of gymnastics that is consistent with the programs philosophy. A Coach will provide instruction in their specialty area of Dance, Early Education aspects and or cheer, but is not limited to these specific specialties. Pay Range: $16.20-$20.00 hourly.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Gymnastics Coach will instruct children ages walking to 18 years of age in the sport of gymnastics and scheduled program classes. The Coach must continually research then prepare and implement the lessons in conjunction with the requirements of the competition league. Follow and implement appropriate gymnastics progressions for all participants. Maintain accurate accounting of attendance. Know and monitor gymnastics equipment for safety, maintenance and replacement needs. Help orient new gymnastics staff. Obtain and have working knowledge of appropriate skills to grow and enhance the program. Incorporate virtue and character education into all classes that are developmentally appropriate. The ability to communicate effectively, establish rapport with participants and their parents, must be a team player in the organization and at all times exercise good judgement.
Working Environment/Physical ActivitiesThe Gymnastics Coach must have the ability to maintain a high level of physical activity, be physically active for long periods of time and be able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs. The Coach must have the enthusiasm and positive energy required to work with children of all ages and abilities. Late evenings, weekends and some holiday work days required.
Education /ExperienceMinimum 19 years of age, with documented hours in Gymnastics and or the specialty area of expertise. A minimum of 4 years Gymnastics experience. Must be CPR, First Aid, Gymnastics Safety and NFHS Concussion Awareness Certified.
