Production Control Specialist

Department: Carpet Coating FLSA: Exempt

Reports To: Carpet Asst. Production Mgr/Production Mgr

Supervises: N/A

Position Summary

The production control specialist is responsible for issuing and tracking work orders, ensuring that required materials are supplied to the production floor, as according to the production schedule. This position is also responsible for expediting and prioritizing work orders and coordinating and managing daily, weekly production schedules.

General Qualifications

Education/Knowledge:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering and business; or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 0-10 years of experience in production controls
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer software: Microsoft Office

Skills (required and preferred):

• Problem Solving/Analysis.
• Communication Proficiency.
• Time Management

Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, and speech are required. Manual dexterity is necessary. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.

• This position will be performed predominantly in an office setting but with tasks performed on production floor inter-acting with production associates.
• This position may cause sitting for long periods of time

Essential Functions

• Analyze customer orders and establish production schedules for timely delivery. Review change orders and execute them appropriately.
• Work with purchasing: Order and manage the MRP (Material Requirement Planning) corresponding to the production schedules.
• Create and update the work instructions.
• Control man power and coating area managers.
• Investigate production control problems, analyze root causes, and derive solutions.
• Develop positive relationship with staffs and customer to meet productivity goals

Additional Responsibilities

· Performs other duties as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
