As a transforming company, we are continuously looking for positive, energetic, passionate people to join our team.Hyperion Solutions is currently seeking an experienced DC Armature Winder to join our Dallas, TX team, supporting the Capital Electric Motor brand. Reporting to the Dallas Shop Supervisor, this position plays an integral part on the team by traveling up to 35% of the time for onsite rewinds in electric motors, generators, and armatures. This position is responsible for removing old and damaged windings, preparing the motor components, and carefully winding new coils to precise specifications. Onboarding will consist of training with another tech to learn the onsite rewind portion of this role.Primary Responsibilities:1. Preparation for rewinding: a) Pull apart motors for disassembly b) Remove old windings from the motor’s stator or rotor c) Clean the core, inspect for damage, and make necessary repairs or modifications2. Wind and install new coils: a) According to the specifications of the motor, wind new coils b) Apply necessary insulations materials to ensure proper functioning and prevent short circuits c) Reinstall end bells and rotors3. Quality Assurance: a) Check output for quality assurance and document defects or workmanship issues, by: - Conducting electrical tests to verify the performance and reliability of the motors - Cleaning the parts b) Prep motor for delivery c) Identify the need for and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs4. Collaborate with other shop personnel and management to continually improve processes including: a) Developing new fixturing/work holding methods b) Tooling alternatives c) Routing efficiencies5. Health and Safety Compliance: a) Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment b) Communicate with internal team members to ensure procedures and processes are being followed in a safe and effective manner6. Perform other duties as assignedJob Requirements:• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.• 5 years' experience in a related motor shop environment required.• Certification from vocational and/or trade school or university preferred.• Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred.• Experience working in an industrial motor shop environment with machine tools or mechanical assembly.• Elevator and/or motor shop experience highly preferredCapabilities:1.
