Job Description
General Purpose:
The Operations Supervisor is to lead the Operational team and to ensure that the departments’ performance meets company quality and service standards as well as department objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and develop the operational team.
- Able to motivate, influence, and train people.
- Proactively communicate, coach, and train the warehouse staff and all associates to increase the overall quality and performance of the distribution center.
- Take ownership of all customer orders regarding order accuracy and service performance.
- Ensure proper distribution of products based on company goals and objectives.
- Analyze, delivery and inventory issues and provide solutions.
- Enhance and control distribution in order to satisfy customer and quality specifications.
- Monitor and track Labor, Metrics and KPI performance.
- Maintain Warehouse and equipment safety and housekeeping standards and ensure team members are working safely and following proper safety procedures including PPE and other requirements.
- Keep accurate warehouse records pertaining to: Payroll, Overtime, Temp hours (when applicable), inventory transactions, maintaining inbound and outbound procedures, shipping systems and employee productivity.
- Plan, coordinate, direct and forecast operational needs – product and equipment, supplies, staffing, space/organization, etc. in compliance with company goals and objectives.
- Maintain employee safety and morale by creating a safe and efficient working environment.
- Maintain proper employment levels through selecting, interviewing, and training of personnel.
- Demonstrate Leadership and decision-making skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage up to 5 subordinates.
Education/Experience Required: bachelor's degree and five or more years of warehouse management preferred.
Computer Skills Necessary: Microsoft Office, SAP B1, Resolv, and RF equipment.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Must be able to perform all physical demands of employees that he manages.
- Ability to routinely lift 25-75 lbs.
- Ability to perform work with prolonged standing up to 8 hours; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching.
- Able to work flexible hours
Work Environment: Warehouse and office setting.
