Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is looking for an Electric Vehicle Range Development Engineer at our Technical Center in Chino, California.Responsibilities
Test and develop on road All-Electric Range for Hyundai/Kia/Genesis Electric & Fuel Cell Electric vehicles powertrains
Range Prediction (DTE) Calibration for BEV & FCEV for US Production models
Extreme Weather BEV / FCEV Range Development & Testing
Develop big data processing and analysis tools to identify key vehicle development/ improvement items
Develop on-road range simulation tool to improve & predict vehicle range
Market & Technology Trend and Research
Monitor the current state of the art in North American market light duty vehicle xEV powertrains
Summarize and report findings
Conduct competitor vehicle research and benchmark testing
Attend & Support SAE Light Duty Vehicle Performance and Test standard committee if necessary - SAE J1711, SAE J2572, SAE J1634, etc
Prototype BEV, FCEV vehicle Instrumentation
High Voltage Probes and Sensors
Data acquisition setup and installation

Compensation
$70,000 - $125,000
Qualifications
Bachelor's of Science in Engineering field
Candidate should be able to describe major components of electrified vehicle powertrains and basic operation
Highly desire candidate that has excellent computer skills and experience in data acquisition systems/ instrumenting for measuring vehicle performance
Excellent communication and organizational skills with capability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and tasks while informing progress to key stakeholders
Must be willing to travel for up to 20% on trips up to 2 weeks in duration
Qualified candidates should understand components, principles, and operation of EV and FCEV vehicles
Proficient in creating documents, emails, and reports in MS office
Experience with ETAS INCA/MDA, Vector CANanlyzer is a plus.
Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
Able to work in a culturally diverse team environment and in harsh climate conditions (Winter -40F, Summer 120F, altitude up to 14,000 ft)
