I Dream PCS is Hiring a Security and Operations Associate Near Washington, DC
Position OverviewThe Security and Operations Associate is an integral member of the I Dream Team. This role wears several hats. The primary hat is that of the school security. You will be the first point of contact for learners, families, and visitors as they enter our space. As such, you will be comfortable working with different audiences, de-escalating issues, and enforcing I Dream PCS policies. You are also eager to learn new skills and help out where needed. As a member of the School Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations at the school and may lead various initiatives and projects. Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday Responsibilities
Security
Greet and check in guests, learners, families, and contractors
Late arrival, early dismissal, regular dismissal coordination
Upholding building entry policies and de-escalation of conflict with guests and parents
Safety training- willing to receive or already has certification in administration of EpiPen, CPR, first responder, and first aid
Security for Extended School Year (July)
Emergency Response
The goal is to fully lead emergency response at I Dream PCS
Fully understand all emergency response procedures
Train all staff and learners on proper execution of procedures
Make recommendations and update procedures accordingly
Ensure all equipment and supplies are functioning and present
Front Desk
Mail and package receiving and sorting
Support with hall transitions
Late pick up host for learners
Answers door for visitors
Directs families to appropriate point of contact for specific inquiries
Operations
School Food- sort school food, deliver lunch to classrooms, and other duties as assigned.
Support with attendance
Facilities- helps move furniture during school year and Summer
Community
Assists and/or leads logistics and preparations for school events and activities.
Participates in all necessary duties for the successful and orderly functioning of the school (hallway supervision, arrival/departure transitions, lunch/recess, and participation in field trips, supporting learners) and other such duties as assigned.
Serves as a full-time and engaged member of the school staff, including collaborating with school staff, towards fulfilling I Dream's mission to our learners.
Fulfills other duties as assigned as related to security, operations, or other.
Core Skills And Competencies
Technical Skills
Basic proficiency in Google Suites; computer literacy
Experience and/or comfortable working with or managing technology.

Minimum Qualifications
3 years of experience in security within the K-12 setting
1 year of experience in operations, preferably in an urban school environment
Results driven, solutions-oriented with commitment to operational, organizational, and customer service excellence
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong technical skills
