Job Summary:
The District Manager reports directly to the CEO, supporting our MA and NY retail locations.
As the District Manager of Retail Operations, you will be responsible for the strategic management and performance of multiple dispensaries within a designated region. This role is instrumental in driving revenue growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a cohesive retail environment. Responsible for optimizing store operations, coaching and developing teams, and implementing retail strategies, the District Manager plays a pivotal role in elevating the customer experience while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and compliance withing the evolving cannabis marketplace.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive business strategies to maximize sales, enhance profitability, exceed the previous year’s sales, and expand market share
  • Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring exceptional service standards to foster customer loyalty and increase repeat business
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create promotional campaigns and initiatives to drive sales
  • Conduct regular store visits, across all locations, to guarantee brand consistency and ensure stores maintain an inviting, organized, and visually appealing environment to attract and retain customers
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, leveraging industry connections to explore new business opportunities and potential markets to expand the retail footprint
  • Devise and implement targeted marketing campaigns, promotions, and merchandising strategies to boost product visibility and drive sales
  • Oversee inventory planning and procurement strategies to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize shortages, and reduce excess inventory costs
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze data, and implement corrective measures to optimize results
  • Assist stores with initiatives that encourage cross-selling and upselling, aiming to increase the average transaction value and overall revenue
  • Lead dispensary managers to generate profitable sales through proactive business forecasting, demand-driven scheduling, delivery of exceptional customer service, and successful execution of all programs and initiatives
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and regularly assess sales metrics, providing actionable insights to drive continuous sales improvements
  • Leverage digital marketing channels, social media, and online platforms to enhance brand awareness and attract new customers
  • Use social media analytics to measure the impact of the dispensary’s marketing efforts and provide feedback to adjust strategies as needed to maximize engagement and drive (online) sales
  • Policies Procedures Retail Operations
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by observation, active listening, and proactive interaction
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction by effectively resolving their concerns in alignment with their needs
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique client and demographic profiles for each dispensary
  • Empower store teams to foster community engagement through the organization and execution of compelling in-store events
  • Address and resolve manager inquiries, concerns or suggestions promptly; communicate resource needs to the Regional Director and establish timelines for resolutions or implementations
  • Work closely with Finance to develop and manage the budget effectively, identifying cost-saving opportunities to contribute to the overall financial success of retail operations
  • Regularly update the Regional Director and cross-functional leadership on all aspects of dispensary operations, providing constructive feedback and proactive solutions to drive success in the ever-evolving cannabis industry
  • Partner with Human Resources, Compliance, Security, Employees Health & Safety, Marketing, and IT on company initiatives
  • Analyze business metrics to create, implement, and communicate action plans which promote growth and continuous improvement of dispensary operations.
Qualifications:
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related degree is required
  • Must consent to a criminal background check
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of the criminal background check
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • A minimum of seven years of full-scope management experience in retail, hospitality, and/or sales roles is essential
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in leadership roles
  • A deep knowledge of state-specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance is non-negotiable
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills are required
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail and a focus on process optimization
  • High-level competence in utilizing computers and technology, including working with MS Office applications, POS, and inventory management control systems
