Duties will include, but are not limited to, medical assistant duties, answering telephones, making appointments, verifying patient demographic and health insurance information, coordinating billing and referral processes, assembling patient charts, scheduling, data entry and filing.Responsibilities:Medical Assistant Functions:Take vitals when necessaryPrepare the daily schedules for the office, pull and prepare the patient charts, ensure that the proper chart has been selected, and the appropriate paperwork has been attached to the chart (i.e., encounter form, etc.)Room placementRecord patient history, chief complaint, pharmacy info, prescription list, etc. into EMR for physicalSupply orderingStocking of roomsOrdering tests, obtaining prior authorizationsRequesting and obtaining referrals for patient visits and surgeryAdditional duties as assignedSteward Health Care is proud to be a minority, physician owned organization.
