Our Haverhill campus offers all private rooms, and our Methuen campus offers a new state-of-the-art catheterization suite and Joint Center of Excellence, named as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement.Position Summary: Patient Access Coordinator 36 Hours Job Description:Responsible for effectively processing patient registrations by collecting co-payments, providing bed assignments, maintaining bed board and computer census, and maintaining patient registration reports.Essential Functions: Greet and direct patients and families to appropriate nursing units and departments.Obtain necessary personal and financial information for all patient types including pre-registration and enter data accurately into, a computer system.Prepare and assemble charts, cards, labels, and bracelets and deliver to appropriate departments.Obtain signatures on all necessary legal permits, notices, and municate effectively with internal and external customers, demonstrating the ability to understand patients' limitations and expectations.Load and operate printers, card embossers, photo copiers, and fax machines.Verify insurance using available tools such as NEHEN, POS devices, and WEBMD.Record and report necessary legal incidents such as dog bites, gunshot wounds, and assaults to appropriate facilities. Record these incidents in the computer system in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.Fax all insurance-specific details to appropriate insurance carriers.Print and maintain reports for all scheduled patients for ancillary department appointments.Fax all insurance-specific details to appropriate insurance municate effectively with supervisory staff when follow up is needed on all unresolved inquiries/problems.Minimum QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma required or equivalentExperience: One to two years' experience in a health care environment.Certification/Licensure: N/AOther: Proven knowledge Medical Terminology and data entry skills, Excellent customer service/communications skills, Exhibits ability to work as part of a team, and Exhibits team-building skills.Benefits: We have many plans with various deductibles, which can cover individuals or families, so you can customize a plan that will work for you Steward Health Care works with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts to provide affordable health insurance for our employees in benefit-eligible positions.
